It’s World of Wheels weekend here in Calgary so I thought a Foothills Rides slide show would be an appropriate way to bring a car show atmosphere to the website.

The fourth vehicle included in our 2010 T artwork is this Foothills Ride entry; John Schubach’s 1952 Mercury Monteray. Unfortunately I don’t have any outdoor beauty shots of John’s car, so this shot from the 2009 edition of the World of Wheels will have to do.

John’s Mercury will be part of the club display at the February 2010 World of Wheels and also appears on the 2010 FSRA T-Shirt.
2009 Agapé Hospice donation

$5000 donated to Agapé Hospice
On February 8 2010 schedules aligned and Elva Jolly of the Salvation Army’s Agapé Hospice was able to join us at our club meeting and accept the FSRA’s cheque for $5000. If schedules had allowed this presentation would have taken place at Decembers AGM.
Elva informed us that the funds Agapé receives from FSRA go directly to their resident care program. Elva also informed the club that we have so far donated in excess of $30,000 to Agapé and that the hospice has plans in the works to formally recognize the club for it’s support.
Monday February 8th 2010 FSRA Meeting

Monday is our last meeting before the World of Wheels on February 19, 20 & 21.
Trevor is presently driving home a new acquisition from Arizona so asked me to send out this important meeting reminder.
- Please volunteer for a few shifts at the car show and help our club support the Agape Hospice.
- There are still a number of volunteer assignments needing to be filled, particularly on Sunday.
- Please, call Janet Savage at (403) 246-0913 to sign up, or do so at our meeting on Monday evening.
FSRA’s new 2010 shirts are hot off the press, in time for us to show them off at the World of Wheels.
- Please come prepared to purchase yours to take home from the upcoming meeting on Monday.
- See Leo or Berny Hartfelder. Prices are the same as last year’s:
For Small thru XL sizes
- short-sleeved T’s are $20
- long-sleeved T’s are $25
- sweat-shirts are $30
(Note: 2XL sizes are an extra $5.)
Members pre-ordered 100 shirts at our last meeting, plus a limited number of extras will also be available.

February 2010 Foothills Kruizin’ Newsletter

This month’s issue contains Bill Mathesons musings on life, rodding and whatever else caught his eye since December. This month we also have a feature write up by Alan Anderson who condenses the 7 year build of his T Sedan into a little over two pages for our enjoyment. As well, Shirlee Smith-Matheson announces the launch of her new book “Amazing Flights and Flyers”
