Doug Wozak spent a lot of time at February’s World of Wheels looking through the viewfinder of his camera.
He shared a CD full of images with Foothills Kruizin’ for the next newsletter, but that doesn’t come out until June. Also, the news isn’t big enough to hold all of his pictures.

The FSRA safety Inspection event is a yearly opportunity for club members to go over their cars with an “extra set of eyes” to look for potential problems. Chuck and Jacques base their inspections on the NSRA’s “Safety 23″ program, in which they are both fully qualified. The inspection is of an advisory nature and is intended to allow owners to participate and become more aware of their cars build, wear, and performance, all with safety in mind.
Video by Jeff Smith from the March Meet. Thanks Jeff !
Graham Cannonball Cannon, wins again although the inspections committee is discussing possible disqualification due to illegal axle configuration. Second place to Barry, “I can’t drift this POS” Klassen. Third to Greg “Eat My Panties” Peckham. Fourth to “Slow Poke” Peter Trim. And sadly last place to Craig “WTF is going on with my Steering” Trim. Craig hit the ditch about 60 feet from the start when his new elegant rail made an unexpected right hander into the rhubarb.
In other highlights, Peter trim showed up with a new sled, still having trouble with lubrication of the driveline…..but when you are over 60, I have heard that this is a common problem.
Barry Klassen flipped his ride at the end of the first race becoming the first “GOFER” to shed some blood. This incident was the result of a failed attempt to drift his POS at the end of the course, but she hooked causing him to do a triple axel, as seen at the Olympic free skate. Graham Cannon, and Greg Peckham were within close proximity and give it a 7 out of 10 for the dismount.
Not sure what happened with the Siewert racing stable, both Dirty Don Siewert and Rob “left turn” Siewert were nowhere to be found during this race weekend. More than likely scared to compete and have probably moved back to the powder puff derby.
FSRA is meeting on Monday, March 8th. The meeting will be, as usual, at the Chapelhow Legion (Edmonton Trail and 38th Avenue N.E) at 7 p.m. Ron Moore will be our guest speaker and he will tell us about his new oil product for collector cars. Hope to see you all there.
It’s World of Wheels weekend here in Calgary so I thought a Foothills Rides slide show would be an appropriate way to bring a car show atmosphere to the website.
